What we’re about
This is a private gathering created for those who love arthouse movies.
The movies are screened outdoor (until the Dubai's weather is our ally), in the Umm Suqeim 2. We're usually gonna have up to 7-8 people, including the host - out of which 2 or 3 will come through the MeetUp event.
Other than seeing the movie, we'll use this opportunity to build new connections with people alike - hence, prior and after the movie, we'll do a bit of socialising.
In regards to the selection, we'll mostly see Middle Eastern, Asian and European arthouse movies - some tittles that I (egoistically) want to see more than once :)
The list might include:
• A separation (Asghar Farhadi)
• The attack (Ziad Doueiri)
• Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring (Ki-duk Kim)
• The live of the others (Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck)
• Oasis (Chang-dong Lee)
• The Secret in Their Eyes (Juan José Campanella)
Don't expect any avengers-type of movies to be shown (in fact, just mentioning it, might get you an exclusion from this group) :)
